Parwaris
   A Hindu warrior clan hailing from Gujarat whose number increased among the royal guards under Qutb al-Din Mubarak Shah Khalji (1316-1320). With the rise of Khusrau Khan, this clan became very influential in the service of that sultan. After Khusrau Shah seized the throne, the Parwaris were accused by elements loyal to the old regime of not respecting the Islamic sensitivities, leading to an uprising culminating in the overthrow of Khusrau Shah and his Parwari followers.
